A TRIBUTE TO KEN RAND

The following photos show how I installed a door support for my canopy. This unit is made for hatches on boats but sure works well for my gull wing door. The spring is all stainless steel. To close the door, simply push on the center of the spring. There is also an internal wire cable in the spring which only allows the spring to stretch a 1/2". The cable acts as a stop when opening the door keeping it from laying completely over.
